In this tip, Lisa Laker, a Franklin High School English Teacher, shares resources from Indiana Humanities. This Indiana organization has promoted the humanities in our state since 1972. Learn more by reading Lisa's tip below. If you'd like to share a Two-Minute Tip with Indiana educators, please email us at indianaenglishteachers@gmail.com. "Take a few minutes to explore the Indiana Humanities website on their programs link. Grant applications take about 20 minutes or less to fill out! Over the past five years, our school has been awarded grants for guest speakers from the Indiana Author Awards, Advancing Racial Equity Speakers Bureau, Unearthed, and Novel Conversations. This includes author visits and workshops for your students! For example, my new Dual Credit Creative Writing course has been granted a workshop on 'How to Write a Sonastic Poem' with Indiana poet, Curtis Crisler; this is a 'new form of poetry that marries the persona poem and the ekphrastic poem to create a new style.' How exciting!" -Lisa Laker
