Hello, I’m Blake Mellencamp, your friendly neighborhood ICTE Publications Director!

ICTE wants to add your voice to the conversation surrounding Language Arts education. Oftentimes, there can be a barrier to entry for submitting articles to academic journals, press outlets, and the like. We hope the ICTE blog will be a place where you can share your thoughts with fellow educators across the state of Indiana while bolstering your own writing career by adding publication credits to your resume!
ICTE is looking to publish a variety of education content, including but not limited to:
Two-Minute Tips
Have a quick tip for the classroom to share with fellow teachers? Share it on the ICTE blog with a Two-Minute Tip! These tips can be submitted via text or video formats, and focus on ideas for lesson planning, assessment, classroom management, or more.
Teacher Features
Do you have a rockstar colleague? Give them a shout out by nominating them for a Teacher Feature! For these articles, we’ll reach out to your nominee for an e-mail interview where they can share innovations they’ve made in the classroom and things that inspire them as educators!
Research Reflections
Share the results of your academic work with research reflections! If you’re a teacher , student, or researcher in an education program and want to distill your findings for a broad audience of Indiana teachers, consider writing a Research Reflection for our blog!
Op-Eds
Looking to add your voice to the discourse? Look no further! At ICTE, we put the ED in Op-Ed. With this option, you can submit your ideas about modern developments in pedagogy and education policy and enter a larger conversation around education with your colleagues throughout Indiana!
Have an idea that doesn’t fit into one of these categories? Feel free to share your own idea for a blog post!
Once you have a concept for your blog post, all you have to do is email us a pitch with the subject line ICTE Blog. From that point on, we’ll be in touch to workshop your idea and make sure it’s a good fit for the tone of our blog. After a round of drafting and revisions, we’ll be set to put your blog post up on our website and share it with the subscribers of our monthly newsletter. Congratulations - you’re a published writer!
I can’t wait to read your submissions and amplify the voices of educators all across Indiana!
Thanks,
Blake Mellencamp
Publications Director, ICTE
